Drew is a third grader at Middle Creek Elementary School with a larger than life personality that is sure to help him in his chosen career path. Drew wants to be an actor when he grows up. He now has $5,000 to go towards his college education thanks to a winning entry and having his name drawn at random for the grand prize at the SMART529 When I Grow Up essay contest.
“That’s really exciting. I didn’t know that was going to happen,” he told the crowd gathered at the contest luncheon when his name was drawn out.
Drew got inadvertently bitten by the acting bug thanks to his big brother.
“He likes to film videos and always asks me to act in them,” he said. “That inspired me. Now I just like it a lot and want to be an actor. I just do random characters and like them all.” His favorite subject is math. When he’s not in school or hamming it up or doing stunts for his brother’s videos, Drew likes to play on his tablet and enjoys soccer.
